Modern Slavery Policy

Modern Slavery Act Statement

Sovereign Plus Ltd (‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’) strives to be an ethical business and is committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We are also committed to legal and tax compliance and deals in good faith with other parties in the supply chains in which we operate.

This statement sets out the actions of Sovereign Plus Ltd to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to our business and to put in place steps aimed at ensuring there is no person working in conditions equivalent to modern slavery or subjected to human trafficking in our own business or its supply chains.

We support good relationships between clients and sub-contractors to underpin our business success.

As an equal opportunities’ employer, Sovereign Plus Ltd is committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for all our employees. We want our employees to have the confidence to bring to light any wrongdoings without risk to themselves.

Our management processes are written to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard them from any abuse or coercion.

As part of our service provision, we work with self-employed sub-contractors who are suitably qualified, skilled and experienced. We have appropriate processes and procedures to confirm the identity and, where relevant, the background of any sub-contractor.

Our Anti-Slavery policy reflects our commitment to always act ethically and with integrity throughout our business relationships. We have developed robust systems and procedures to test for the presence of modern slavery and human trafficking. We give clear guidance to our employees on how to alert relevant individuals of any suspected incidents.

We do not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or aboard, which knowingly supports, or is found to be involved in, slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour. We have a zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. We expect all those in our supply chain and any contractors to comply with the values set out in this statement.

We do not procure any goods and services directly from any countries which are at a high risk of modern slavery or exploitation. Our first-tier suppliers are solely based within the United Kingdom.

Sovereign Plus Ltd also seeks to increase awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking risks within the wider industry.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2022.
